It’s been so long since I first found artist Marguerite Sauvage that I can’t even remember how it happened. Needless to say, I’ve been following her career for (maybe?) a decade at this point so it’s fun to check in with her to see what she’s been up to. And wow, she’s been busy! When I first became smitten, she specialized in fashion and lifestyle illustrations for magazines and beauty brands. Now, her workload is heavy on comic books, mostly covers and some interiors (my favorite, not surprisingly, is her Jem and Holograms artwork from 2015). She flawlessly creates other worlds with her drawings, which are energetic, sexy, devastatingly stylish, and full of movement, a quality that lends itself perfectly to the art she creates for animation and video games. Does she do it all or what?
