La Prestic Ouiston is a French contemporary label by designer Laurence Mahéo. It was launched in 2005 as a bespoke fashion collection in which Mahéo hand-made all pieces herself using sumptuous, high-end fabrics. Five years later, she branched out into ready-to-wear to make her designs more readily available. A lover of vintage textiles, Mahéo brings the same luxurious touch to her RTW collection as she did for her exclusive pieces — she only uses natural fabrics and manufactures a limited number of each style.
The fall/ winter range from La Prestic Ouiston captures Mahéo’s design philosophy to a T. A Harris tweed cropped jacket features leather yokes and is paired with a fluid flannel wool skirt. A lustrous tartan top and matching trousers are cut from a silk/ viscose blend. Lambskin pieces — an impossibly cropped top, a princess point skirt — fit like a second-skin. From the fabric selection to the fit and silhouettes, a cool, menswear swagger is also key.
