Sneaker collaborations have been dropping right and left over the past few months, with Kermit the Frog pairing up with Adidas and Nike resurrecting Marty McFly’s Air Mags.
This week, Converse officially jumped into the remix when it announced a partnership with sorta-fictional-but-kinda-not-animated rock/hip hop/electronic/kitchen sink band, Gorillaz. Four different designs will bedeck Converse’s classic All Star Chuck model, all lifted from the cartoon graphics that have been an integral part of the band’s image since its 2001 debut. (Has it really been a decade since “Clint Eastwood”? Good lord.) Due to hit the shops in February, the collection includes this pair with an allover print of the cubist camo pattern that was featured on the Gorillaz first album cover from all those years ago.
Gorillaz co-creator (and “Visual Director”) Jamie Hewlett designed all artwork that will be featured on the kicks. Price tag is set for a very reasonable $60.
