London-based Clare Nicolson is a prop stylist whose vibrant, color-block style has made her a highly sought-after design creative. She has done projects for the likes of Pepsi, Nestle and Britain’s Channel 4 and has a fledgling home goods business where she sells her artwork through Society6.
Like any really good design mind in 2015, Nicolson is also a master Instagrammer, expertly using the platform to showcase her professional work and at-home DIY projects. Cut-out paper hands, paint-dipped popsicle sticks, Valentine’s Day envelopes… Nicolson can make even the most mundane objects look like works of art (just check out the pile of Sweet & Low packets). Not sure if this is intentional, but we love how her styling recalls the best aspects of 80s graphic design — her mix of soft pastel shades and strong geometric shapes look like lay-outs from early-80s teen magazines.
