Here at 28 Crash!, we want to salute the heros of rock music and pop culture by dishing out the most gotta-have-it vintage fashion this side of Strawberry Fields. Are you cultivating the Pat Benatar-look? Or does the glam dandy wardrobe of a Faces-era Rod Stewart turn you on? Adrien Grenier's "Sebastian Cole" may have you coveting an East Village street urchin look circa 1983. Unless of course you'd prefer to channel your inner roller skating goddess like Olivia in Xanadu. The Runaways, Billy Idol, Mick & Keef, Stevie Nicks, Madonna '83, Madonna '86, Madonna '89...whomever inspires you, it's likely we, like, SO TOTALLY agree.

We pride ourselves not only in being able to hunt down the most covetable togs, but also in our ability to put a fresh, modern spin on vintage design. Ever find an amazing piece but it just didn't fit right? We're not talking too big or too small. We mean, you know, a little off? Well, we've fixed that. By modifiying a garment just so (whether it be shortening a hem or bringing in the bust), we are taking the best in vintage clothes and modernizing the fit so you don't look or feel like your sporting a costume from the set of The Brady Bunch (and we love those nutty Bradys but high rise double-knit poly pants have no place in our universe).

And then there is 28 Crash! Label, which consists of vintage pieces, one-of-a-kind and thoughtfully customized and reconstructed. See that strapless sundress? It was a romper in a previous life. The sassy mini with the heart buttons was once floor-length and walked down the aisle ahead of a very blushing bride. And then there are the appliques which are all originals: designed and cut by us, applied by hand. They're also crafted from fabric remnants leftover from other projects, so absolutely nothing goes to waste (we love to recycle!). What could be more environmentally friendly as that?

If you ever have a question about a piece that catches your eye, don't hesitate to contact us. We will always disclose any changes that have been made, just ask! Communication is your bestest friend:)

WHO ARE YOU?

Stacey (Queen Bee, 28 Crash!) had wanted to be in fashion ever since she was a wee lass and saw Madonna's wedding dress designer profiled on television as Madge was getting ready to marry Sean Penn.

After graduating with a Fashion Design degree from Drexel University, she ended up working as a theatrical costumer in NYC, London, and Philadelphia. Always intrigued by 1960’s fashion, it was in the stalls of Camden Market that her love of vintage clothing bloomed, a love which ultimately developed into an obsession. So much so, that in between theatre gigs, Stacey turned this thrift store habit into a side project as she sold her wares via eBay and to consignment boutiques. Six years later, 28 Crash! was launched.

And she still worships Madonna.

Inspirations: 70’s rock stars, 80’s sticker books, & Linda Blair in Roller Boogie

Stacey also founded the long-running online fashion zine The Dedicated Follower of Fashion and has been a contributor to Venus Zine, FashionWindows , and Trendcentral. She has covered Fashion Week in New York and London, as well as various music events including Coachella, Siren Festival, and CMJ.
